The Serija S Tournament, held on January 31 and February 1 at the Millennium Hall in Vršac, was one of the key events in Serbia’s taekwondo calendar, bringing together athletes from across the country in the cadet, junior, and senior categories.
This tournament is an important part of the national selection system. Athletes competed to collect points needed to enter the Serbian National Team selection pathway. Those who secure their place through this process will go on to represent Serbia at the European and World Championships.
According to Miroslav Krklješ, Secretary General of the Taekwondo Association of Serbia, the level of competition was exceptionally high because the event included athletes who are directly involved in the official selection process.
In his statement, Krklješ emphasized that the tournament featured top fighters and high-quality matches, reflecting the importance of the event for athletes aiming for national team status.
The Serija S Tournament in Vršac also marked the implementation of new KPNP 2 electronic equipment, provided by the Federation, demonstrating continued progress not only in competitive results but also in organizational standards.
Across cadet, junior, and senior divisions, around 315 athletes from approximately 50 clubs took part, confirming both the depth of Serbian taekwondo and the significance of this tournament as a stepping stone toward international representation.
