The Serbian National Championship delivered a high level of competition, gathering around 400 athletes across senior and cadet categories.

According to Miroslav Krklješ, Secretary General of the Taekwondo Association of Serbia, the event was highly successful and showcased the best athletes in the country.

“We had a very successful competition in both senior and cadet categories. Around 400 athletes took part, and the best competitors came out on top, which is what we want to see,” Krklješ said.

In the senior category alone, more than 100 athletes competed, creating a strong and competitive field.

“Even though we have both A and B classes, it is always the strongest fighters who step forward. That’s why the number of senior competitors can sometimes be lower, but the level of competition remains very high,” he explained.

Krklješ emphasized that the tournament featured the top-level fighters, making it one of the strongest national competitions.

“We had the best fighters competing, and it was a very strong tournament,” he added.

Parataekwondo was also held alongside the senior and cadet competitions, reflecting its continued development within the national system.

“We had parataekwondo competition taking place at the same time as the national championship,” Krklješ noted.

The event also serves a bigger purpose beyond national titles.

“This is all part of the preparation and selection of athletes for the European Championship, which will take place in Germany in May,” he concluded.
